Tart Green Kale-Kiwi-Mango Smoothie

Ninjas are quiet, but Ninja blenders are not as stealthy. But my (new!) Ninja blender does have many blades and makes me smoothies! With a little help from me and my husband, Jesse, of course.

Here are two recipes for smoothies: one paleo for me  (Tart Kale-Kiwi-Mango) and a very non-paleo smoothie (Raspberry-Mint Smoothie-Shake) for my husband!

Tart Green Kale-Kiwi-Mango Smoothie

Paleo, gluten-free, dairy-free, egg-free

Serves 1 (two cups)

  • 2 champagne mangos, skin and pit removed
  • 1 kiwi, skin removed
  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 1 cup ice
  • 1 tsp raw honey
  • Juice of 1/2 (or less) of lime

  1. Cut mangos and kiwi to appropriate size to blend in your blender.
  2. Add all other ingredients into blender.
  3. Blend together until smooth!

Final thoughts

I am so excited to make more smoothies! This one definitely came out pretty deliciously tart. Coconut milk added a lot of calories to my tart green smoothie, and the champagne mangoes added too many carbs.  More smoothes in the future as I experiment!

Raspberry-Mint Smoothie-Shake

Gluten-free, Egg-free

Serves 1 (2 cups)

  • 1/2 cup Edy’s mint chocolate chip ice cream
  • 1 1/2 cups of frozen raspberries
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1 tsp maple syrup
  • Handful of raspberries to garnish
  • Handful of ice

  1. Blend together until smooth!

Final Thoughts

This smoothie came out pretty thick like a shake, so adding in ice/water was helpful in thinning it out.  Jesse thought that this could have used a bit more mint, so next time we plan on throwing in about 6 mint leaves and seeing how that affects the flavor.
